Ascendancy

Bandits

This quest is given to you by Eramir in the Forest Encampment after you complete Through Sacred Ground or talk with any of the bandit leaders. There are three different bandit leaders. You can either side with one of them (and kill the other two) to get the respective reward or you can kill all of them to get the reward from Erami - from Gamepedia

Skill points or Oak/Kraityn. Oak is a bit more defensive, Krait is faster clear.

Note: this is not the HIGHEST dps setup. conc effect > faster attacks for damage, but then you get stuck in multistrike animation more often.

Gear Setup & Stat Priorities

Weapon

Any 350-400+ Physical DPS weapon will do fine for mapping. Endgame you want to aim for Starforge or Atziri's Disfavour or a really high PDPS rare.

Unique alternatives: Kondo's Pride, Doomsower, Marohi Erqi, Panquetzaliztli, Geofri's Devotion, Tidebreaker, Kongor's Undying Rage.

Helm

Devoto's for that sexy attack speed/dexterity/chaos res combo. You can use a rare with life/res if you wish.

Chest

Belly of the Beast is a great starter endgame chest. Eventually you'll want a chest with % max life/flat life and resists/strength.

Unique alternatives: Loreweave, Kaom's Heart (if you want to sacrifice links), Lightning Coil

Gloves

Rares with life/resists and maybe Essence of Insanity. Flat physical to attacks/attack speed/dex/int if you need here as well.

Unique alternatives: Haemophilia for bleeding enemy pops, Wyrmsign for a pseudo 5L/Rampage, Null and Void for Rampage memes.

Boots

Rares with as much life/resists as possible. If you're doing Uber Elder, Kaom's Roots are an option to ignore the slow s u c c. Movespeed is irrelevant, we use Leap Slam.

Belt

Stygian belt for a free jewel socket OR an elder rare with life recovery. Life/resists/str/attack speed during flask/melee damage/etc are all good.

Unique alternatives: Belt of the Deceiver for Intimidate (10% more damage), Headhunter (sucks)

Rings

Voidheart (non legacy is fine, focus poison chance) is a huge source of dps for us. Especially with how fast we hit with Lacerate, the poisons stack up very quickly. The other ring should aim to be a Steel Ring with Life/Physical damage to attacks, and then your normal resists/attack speed/str/whatever you need. Int maybe.

Unique alternatives: Ming's Heart can give more overall dps than Voidheart, but you lose some life.

Amulet

Carnage Heart is fine for leveling, it's easily replaced by a good rare though. Life/physical damage to attacks works as a starter. If you can get an Elder amulet with non-chaos as chaos/max life leech rate, great.

Endgame Gear

Try to keep in mind this is endgame potential. You want to aim for similar gear as you push higher and higher, but remember none of this is required to beat all content. If you're res-capped, have the stats you need, and are clearing maps just fine, then you're doing well.

Remember, you can go Sword/Mace/Axe as well. It really comes down to preference and what you can afford. Starforge or Disfavour will both complete the entire game, as will a 500-600+ PDPS Rare.
